A few of our clients have started to take part in a football group once a week in Ellesmere Port.
This football group is for people with mental health conditions, so it is a fun environment for our clients to be in! It takes place at 12pm every Tuesday where around 3-4 of our clients will attend. Staff also get involved in taking part which makes it even more inclusive and fun for our clients. This is a brilliant and fun way for our clients to get some exercise in their week which is good for their physical health.
At Stuart Dunn House we have several clients who have gone back into the world of work and this month we have added another! CR has been out of work for a number of years so this is a huge boost for his confidence. CR is going to do some volunteer work at Claire House which supports seriously and terminally ill children where he will start off by working every Tuesday from 2pm-4pm. Staff will attend work with CR until he feels confident enough to go by himself. This will then hopefully result in CR working another shift or two per week. This is a huge step in the right direction for CR which is ultimately another step towards independence.
This is TL and he is one of our newest residents at Stuart Dunn House. He has been with us for nearly 2 months now and he has been doing incredibly well. TL loves going to the gym with staff at night where he has been making some brilliant progress! TL has been going to the gym with staff since he started having overnight stay at Stuart Dunn House from hospital and he hasn’t looked back! TL is enthusiastic, motivated and a pleasure to be around, from all of us staff at Stuart Dunn House we are delighted to have TL with us!
This month the staff organised a group trip out to the West Kirby beach in which 6 of our clients decided to go. They got the train to West Kirby in the morning, took part in activities and spent most of the day there. The clients enjoyed eating some chips on the beach and going around and having a look in all the different shops. The clients spent a lot of time in the sun, and they had a good time socialising with others!
