Information

Glenarie house is a period building set in beautiful park surroundings. This mixed sex service comprises of 16 rooms with shared facilities set over 3 floors and lift access.

The service supports up to 16 people with complex mental health needs.  There are 24-hour staffing with waking nights. This service is led by a registered mental health nurse with the support of additional nurses and highly experienced support team.

People We Support

The people in this service are a sociable group. There is a supper club where the people we support contribute to a fund that produces fun, healthy suppers with the staff that work at night. There is an emphasis on relaxation and pampering, with the ladies in particular utilising these facilities. On Fridays they enjoy the Karaoke competition, followed by Bingo for prizes which is highly competitive! On Saturday evening there is often a disco organised by our staff with 60’s and 70’s music lover’s welcome. At other times there are often trips to pub lunches in and around the area and special meals cooked for the Christmas period and landmark Birthday celebrations.

Service Manager

Cassandra Kearney

Cassandra Kearney is the manager of this Service. She is a mental health trained nurse of 30 years’ experience who has extensive knowledge of Glenarie and the people that live there from working here for many years. She has worked for SIS since 2019 when Glenarie was deregistered as a nursing home and turned into a supported living service. She enjoys spending quality time with her family and good food.

Service Demographics

The city centre is a ten-minute bus ride where there are many attractions such as Albert Docks and Liverpool 1 shopping centre. There are local shops and amenities within close walking distance. In nearby Kensington there are takeaways and a Tamil restaurant. Liverpool FC’s Anfield ground (Kop Bar and Museum) is a mile and a half away, as is Edge Lane retail park for all types of shopping and ten pin bowling. Kensington Neighbourhood Health Centre is a mile away and provides the quality healthcare that is expected in a busy city with several walk-in centres situated nearby.
