This beautiful period property provides 19 rooms with shared facilities. There is a communal lounge and conservatory with 2 large kitchens, gardens to front of the house and gardens to rear of the house. Heaton is close to Manchester and Stockport with regular transport links for trains, buses, and trams.

Here at Heaton Lodge we support clients with complex mental health needs. Heaton is staffed by 24 hours with waking night staff support clients with individual care needs while promoting independence, supporting clients to cook clean and doing their budgets purchasing food.

Heaton Lodge provide social inclusion by accessing local amenities, college, voluntary groups, 1-1 time with the people we support and staff offering emotional support and fun days out to the zoo, park and beach etc.

People We Support

The client group in this Service have a range of complex mental health diagnosis. They all have different characteristics and personalities and this helps us to identify the ideal keyworker. The people we support are fun, charismatic, have great narratives to which we aim to build good support strategies. A typical day at Heaton lodge consists of supporting with medical appointments, appointments with other healthcare professionals involved in their care and engagement in 1:1 keyworker sessions.

We also use the Recovery STAR model to maintain good mental health, support to engage in social activities and social inclusion, supporting with nutritional needs – meal preparation, shopping, support with personal hygiene, physical appearance and room environment, as well as emotional support.

Service Manager

Farai Mukanganise

The manager of Heaton Lodge is Farai Mukanganise. She has extensive experience in working with people with mental health problems and substance misuse, learning disabilities and autism, as well as elderly care. When she is not in work she enjoys reading, going for walks in the countryside and horse riding.

Service Demographics

The service is based in Stockport on the main road towards Stockport town centre. We are about 5 minutes drive and 20 minutes walk to the centre. There is access to buses that will take you direct to Manchester city and other areas in Stockport, Cheadle and the surrounding areas.
