Emma’s nursing career began in 2000 as a support worker on a hospital ward for people with dementia, before moving onto adult acute wards and PICU to gain further experience. In 2004, Emma was seconded from CWP NHS Trust to start her training at Chester University, where she qualified as a Registered Mental Health Nurse. Upon qualifying, Emma worked as a Community Psychiatric Nurse in care, co-ordinating individuals with mental health problems in the community.
Progressing to liaison psychiatry at Countess of Chester Hospital, Emma was responsible for assessing patients who attended A&E departments with various mental health issues, referring them on to the appropriate services. Emma left the NHS in 2016 to become Director of Clinical Operations at SIS.
